Mabini Mansion Hotel

One of my clients, owner of a construction and design online magazine, loves to book at Mabini Mansion when he's here for business trips and enjoys meeting with his writers there. He's a Cebuano residing in Thailand. It's located along A. Mabini Street in Ermita, Manila near the National Library. It has 149 guestrooms and a restaurant that serves delicious meals, Filipino and Continental varieties.

The hotel was built in 1977 and sheltered in a neighborhood of other tall buildings somewhat a safe distance from the main hustle and bustle of the vicinity, though its immediate surroundings are also a bit busy. It offers an often quiet, dimly lit, and elegant though small lobby adjacent to the restaurant. There is WiFi in common areas and surfing folks or meeting groups are sometimes seen there.

I especially loved their Clubhouse sandwich with lavish servings of French fries and also enjoyed recently a plate of Chopped Suey with rice, though I didn't like the adobo chicken and pork so much. The veggies in the Chopped Suey were crunchy and cooked and seasoned just right. And it was our first time to see Baguio lettuce, supposed to be served and eaten raw, included in Chopped Suey dish. It was a good idea.

The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating and the restaurant attendants can make you feel comfortable and satisfactorily served. They let you alone with whatever business you're having there but quickly responds to your request for service. The place feels secure with 24/7 security personnel and airport transfer can be arranged. Parking is available.

There's a big window panel at the restaurant so you see the busy activities outside along the narrow Mabini and get to watch real life in Manila as it happens. You can walkfit easily to Mabini Mansion from Luneta or Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Children's Museum, Intramuros, and the US Embassy and get public transport once you get to nearby walking-distance T.M. Kalaw. From there you easily get a ride to Fort Santiago and Intramuros, Robinsons, SM Manila or SM Mall of Asia.
