A whole sprawling, posh resort all to your self and your
family--how about that? That's what we got in May one summer (2012) when we went to
Eco Farm in Batangas. It's a perfect hideaway accessed through a subdivision in Sto. Tomas, Batangas and an inner rustic road where you see country scenes ideal for a walkfit Manila adventure especially on cool mornings. It's a real farm, but don't worry, it's also within an easy distance
from town where you find a hospital, a mall, and convenience stores.
It has 3 small "mansions" with
about 3 rooms each. The living rooms in each are so spacious that more guests
can actually sleep in them. The outdoor dining area is right for a picnic lunch and the poolside sheds are romantic. There's even a separate air-conditioned
video/audio room where you can watch your favorite movies throughout the day.
Then all around you are fruit bearing trees.
And the pools! Haha! They're alluring
especially in the early morning and late afternoon. The water is cold and
appealing to the skin during summer. In the ber months? Well, you'll probably need
to boil a pail of water to mix with a pail of pool water and splash yourself
with it by the pool side. All around the pool are trimmed green grass lawn where
I did my arnis practice early one morning.
Eco Farm in Batangas is where you also find some small adventures at
the orchard, especially at night. My nieces and nephews tried to do some scary
antics during midnight and ended up scaring nobody but themselves. One of them put
on a white bedsheet and walked slowly at the orchard, mimicking a white lady.
Well, I must say he did a good job at it and scared himself.
And oh, I also organized a treasure hunt
game for the tots where they had to explore every corner of the farm to find
clues leading to the treasure. They had to search every corner of the 3 mansions.
One mansion [the central house] was interesting because it is
fully furnished, even with an organ at the sala area. The dining furniture set
is grand and the kitchen has complete facilities--like someone [or something]
really lives there. And don't worry about toilet and bath--they're all over the
place. You won't run out of them.
Eco Farm in Batangas is ideal for group or
church retreats, corporate planning [right amid peace and tranquility], small
youth camps, leadership training, or just a simple family overnight
get-together. We really enjoyed our stay there and all of us [we were 3
families in all] ardently wished we could be back again one summer--well,
almost all of us except my sister-in-law who has other ideas about vacation
houses.
From Eco-Farm to the town outside is a good distance as part of tour-walking Manila for fitness.
